the poverty line and cannot afford an instrument to participate in band.
Research shows that band participation:
builds character & self-esteem,
provides a sense of community,
and is fun!
The Instrument Barn program seeks to facilitate the collection of unused instruments from Wicomico County residents
and then re-distribute them to qualifying, low-income students. Every student should be entitled to music education
despite his or her socio-economic status. Approximately 47% of all local public school attendees are below the poverty
line standard. Therefore, almost half of our public school student demographic is unable to buy or rent an instrument

Do you have an instrument that isn't being used? Consider donating it to The Instrument Barn program.
This program facilitates the collection of unused instruments to be re-distributed to qualifying,
low-income students in Wicomico County public schools. Sponsored by the Salisbury Wicomico Arts Council,
Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore, Wicomico County Partnership for Families and Children,
